Alpacas was established in 2010 after we re-located the Healing
Centre to the lush green Teifi Valley in West Wales. Situated in 19 acres of pasture and meadowland to
the north of the village of Penrhiwllan, surrounded by woodland with the River Cwechyr meandering
through the land is the idyllic place for these beautiful animals. The Teifi valley towns
of Llandysul (4.5 miles) and Newcastle Emlyn (5.25 miles) are in close proximity. This is a peaceful scenic
region, rich in history and wildlife such as Red kites, Buzzards and various
A family run smallholding breeding alpacas (Huacaya
and Suri), Llanwenog sheep, Golden Guernsey/Boar, Saanen goats and chickens.
StarChild Alpacas was also the home to StarChild Holistic
Centre which has been helping
people and animals of all kinds for over 20 years.

Since starting our journey, we have progressed to
spinning and weaving our own sheep and alpaca fleeces.
We are very grateful that our journey and its
experiences have taught us such a lot. We live mainly off the land, have milk from the goats and eggs
from the chickens and beautiful fleeces from our sheep and Alpacas.
In our spare time, we span our alpaca yarn (alpacas have
hair rather than alpaca wool), and either knit, crochet or weave it into garments or

and Goats – all of whom have become our friends.
